Afin de lutter contre la présence de moustiques communs et de moustiques tigres sur le territoire, la Ville de Colomiers met en place plusieurs actions dans les espaces publics et à proximité des bâtiments communaux, et sensibilise la population à pratiquer les bons gestes dans leurs jardins et sur leurs balcons.

Traitements larvaires et anti-moustiques
Chaque année, trois phases de traitements anti-larvaires sont organisées sur 18 bassins d’orage et plans d’eau, en mai, juin et à la fin de l’été. En cas de pluie ou d’orage dans les jours suivants le traitement, celui-ci est renouvelé. Ces traitements sont effectués avec des produits de nature bio insecticide, sans danger pour la faune, notamment les poissons, ni pour la flore environnante. Cette action est réalisée par un prestataire spécialisé, dans le cadre d’un marché public plus global de lutte contre les nuisibles (moustiques, frelons asiatiques, chenilles processionnaires et pigeons). En complément, des traitements anti-moustiques ponctuels sont effectués par EID Méditerranée à la demande du Conseil départemental de la Haute-Garonne, sur signalement de l’Agence régionale de santé (ARS) : ces traitements sont effectués dans un rayon de 150 mètres autour des domiciles des personnes dont le diagnostic médical fait craindre une contamination par une maladie tropicale dont le vecteur est le moustique tigre.

Borne anti-moustiques
Depuis 2018, la Ville de Colomiers a également installé, à titre expérimental, une borne anti-moustiques à proximité de la crèche Hélène-Boucher. Cette expérience est reconduite en 2019, les résultats 2018 n’étant pas suffisamment probants pour déployer le dispositif à plus grande échelle pour l’instant.

Nichoirs à chauve-souris
Au printemps 2019, les services municipaux ont également installé une dizaine de nichoirs à chauve-souris pour faire suite à la demande de la Commission développement durable Agenda 21 dans le cadre de la préservation de la nature en ville. Ces nichoirs ont été installés sur ou à proximité de différents bâtiments communaux : Centre de loisirs du Cabirol, Complexe de tennis du Cabirol, maisons citoyennes, Espace nautique JeanVauchère notamment. La chauve-souris est connue comme un prédateur d’insectes et de En parallèle, la Commission développement durable- Agenda 21 a sollicité les membres des Comités de quartier et le bailleur social Altéal afin de déployer les nichoirs sur le domaine privé.

Encourager l’action individuelle
« Au-delà de l’action publique en matière de lutte contre les moustiques communs et les moustiques tigres, il est important que les particuliers se mobilisent dans la lutte contre toute forme d’eaux stagnantes dans le domaine privé », rappelle M. Claude Sarralié, Adjoint à Mme le Maire délégué au cadre de vie et à la mobilité. A ce titre, la Ville de Colomiers avait organisé une réunion publique le 3 mai 2018. Une autre réunion est organisée par le Conseil départemental le vendredi 28 juin 2019, à 18 heures, à la salle Gascogne. En complément, la Ville a mis en place une campagne de communication sur le réseau d’affichage urbain, en complément en 2019 d’une information dédiée dans le magazine municipal « Le Columérin » n°236.
